Throughout his life, Joel Kesler has demonstrated a keen interest in photography and the technical as well as artistic aspects of production.

From working behind the scenes in several theatrical events throughout high school, and even started a tradition of playing student-created videos during intermission for the cast and crew backstage ("The Halftime Show"). He went on to win the Flicks Film Festival award for Best Student- Produced Film in Saskatchewan.

Other hobbies include extreme sports, playing drums, and reading a good book. Joel was born and raised in Saskatoon, and graduated from Marion Graham Collegiate in 2001.
